Instagram for the browser has long been a slimmed-down version of Instagram that lacks several of the features that are available in the app. Now it seems that Instagram will be adding new features here as well.

Right now, Instagram is testing a way to create posts via the browser for desktops. Social media consultant Matt Navarra was the first to discover this. It will be possible to select aspect ratio, add filters, and make simple edits directly from the browser.

In a statement to Bloomberg Facebook confirms that they are testing this new feature because there are many users that uses the web version of Instagram.

“We know that many people access Instagram from their computer. To improve that experience, we’re now testing the ability to create a Feed post on Instagram with their desktop browser.”
