Activision has a lot of game studios under its wings and in recent years they have delivered a fairly wide range of games. Last year we got Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Activision has gone all-in
All of the game studios are now working on Call of Duty in one way or another. Recently, it became known that the developers of Crash 4, Toys For Bob, also shifted focus and are now working with Call of Duty: Warzone content in addition to supporting Crash 4.
Whether Activision will continue to focus more on the Call of Duty series in the future remains to be seen, but it doesn’t appear that they have any plans to slow down the development of this year’s release. Call of Duty 2021 is rumored to return to WW2 and is said to be called “Call of Duty: Vanguard”. It is reportedly being developed by Sledgehammer Games, who developed Call of Duty: WW2.
Update:
Activision confirms that Sledgehammer Games is indeed developing Call of Duty 2021.
“We are very excited for this year’s premium Call of Duty release. Development is being led by Sledgehammer Games and the game is looking great and on track for its fall release. This is built for next-generation experience with stunning visuals across the campaign, multiplayer, and cooperative modes of play, designed to both integrate with and enhance the existing COD ecosystem. We look forward to sharing more details with the community soon.”

A release date or the actual title has not yet been revealed. But if they do it the same way they did with the release of last year’s Black Ops Cold War, it will most likely happen later this summer via Warzone.
